Robert and Beverly Smith are two people who love to travel. After taking many USA vacations, primarily to the National Parks, with their two daughters prior to 1980, the Smiths decided to venture off to the unknown countries in Europe in 1984. After a one month un-escorted trip they returned home and began to plan their return trip. Beverly had kept a log of their European travels and soon Robert published a book titled "Europe A La Carte" encouraging others to follow their lead. Over the years many trips to Europe followed and it wasn't long before friends began inquiring if they could tag along. After all, they said, the Smiths were experts.
The numbers grew and it was soon apparent that the Smiths needed to get organized which led to the formation of their company, A La Carte Tours in 1991. The company tour options have increased over the years and we now offer two and possibly three trips each year. Check this site for updates. Groups are purposely kept small (12 to 24) so as to insure personal service to each client.
In addition to travel, the Smiths also enjoy singing in the church choir, and square dancing is another favorite activity. They are always considering new destinations for their clients and are open to suggestions. Their biggest reward is seeing others enjoy new discoveries while traveling.
