Switzerland! Just the name brings images of snow capped mountains, glaciers, emerald green alpine valleys, the clanging of cow bells, picturesque villages and pleasant strolls past trickling streams as you search for the perfect picnic spot. You’ll have to admit that you’ve always envied Heidi and wished that you could at least spend a little time in such a place.
Well now you can with the assistance of A La Carte Tours for a price you won’t believe possible. How about twelve days in a village surrounded by high mountains located in a green valley in the Berner Oberland area of this storybook country? That village is Kandersteg.
The Alfa Soleil will be your hotel and features comfortable rooms, a very friendly staff and an exceptional dining room. And did I mention that breakfast and a 3 to 5 course dinner is included every evening?
But accommodations is just the beginning of this great adventure. Each day we will have trips planned to a special place via the marvelous Swiss rail system. These will include famous towns, a medieval village with it’s defensive walls and watchtowers still intact, hiking trails with glorious mountain vistas and a castle or two. Two highlights will be a visit to Zermatt to view the Matterhorn and a trip to the famous Rhein Falls at Schaffhausen. A trip to the beautiful Lotschental valley is also planned where you can hike to you heart’s content.

For that price you get private bus transfers in Friendswood to and from the airport (IAH) and Zürich to and from Kandersteg. Your round trip flight to Zürich, twelve nights in the hotel with breakfast and dinner included and a Swiss Rail pass and most gratuities. Alcoholic beverages at the hotel, entrance fees and mountain lifts, etc. extra.
